Marian sits beside this massive female Leatherback to demonstrate her size. The turtle was radio-tagged after egg-laying (image taken on Matura beach, Trinidad).

I have a fascination with these charismatic chelonians.: they are huge, supremely designed, very endangered AND are part of Scotland’s Wildlife Heritage!
Every year small numbers of large Leatherbacks visit the Celtic Sea to feed on the bloom of Jellyfish.
